The sportswear giant NIKE (Nike) will also close many stores around the world to limit the spread of the new crown virus.

Nike's stores in the US, Canada, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand will be closed from March 16th to March 27th. During this period, the affected workers will still receive full wages. Nike's stores in most parts of Korea, Japan and China will remain open as usual.

Not long ago, Nike temporarily closed its headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

According to Nike, although the headquarters of the state of Oregon has been reopened, employees are encouraged to telecommuting from March 16th to the end of this month.

Nike said in a statement on March 13th: "we will continue to monitor developments and, where necessary, give priority to employee safety decisions. We have taken other measures to protect employees' safety, including encouraging employees to work at home, stagger working hours, maintain social distance, and take additional safety and cleanliness measures.

Although Nike has vigorously developed the international market in the past 10 years, it still relies heavily on the US business. Last year, about 40% of its sales came from the US market, followed by EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), and sales accounted for 25%. Nike's digital sales channels account for 9% of its total sales.

The epidemic also has a serious impact on Nike's share price. Since 2020, the stock price of Nike has fallen by more than 25%, and its market value has evaporated by about 40000000000 US dollars.
