In from May 11 to 14, 2019, the delegation of the China Textile Federation, headed by Sun Ruizhe, President of the China Textile Industry Federation, visited Romania. Through visits, discussions and other forms, it carried out in-depth exchanges with Romania counterparts, and the Sino Romanian textile industry reached a cooperative intention to build a bilateral cooperation bridge.

The China Textile Federation, representing the delegation of Romania investment department, learned about Luo's economy, taxation, investment and industrial policies. It also visited Romania textile, clothing, footwear, leather and leather products industry association, textile and Leather Research Institute, garment enterprise "TANEX", textile and garment wholesale market "red dragon", and held talks with Romania textile industry representatives.

At the forum, representatives from both sides actively explored opportunities for cooperation through the introduction of their respective textile industry developments.

Sun Ruizhe, President of China Textile Industry Federation, and Mihai Pasculescu, President of Romania textile and Garment Leather Association, signed the cooperation agreement between China Textile Industry Federation and Romania textile, clothing, footwear, hats and leather products industry association.

Chinese ambassador to Romania Jiang Yu met with the delegation of the China Textile Federation at the embassy, and the economic and Commercial Counsellor Guan Gang attended the meeting.

President Sun Ruizhe introduced the visit to Luo and concluded that Romania has the comparative advantage of developing the textile and garment industry. The Sino Romanian textile industry has good potential for cooperation. It has established a long-term communication and cooperation mechanism with Luo Fang, and encourages Chinese enterprises to invest and cooperate.

Ambassador Jiang Yu said that this year is the 70th anniversary establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Romania. As an important country along the "one belt and one road", Romania has the advantage and potential of developing the textile and garment industry. It is hoped that Chinese textile and garment enterprises will open up new markets to Romania and realize the diversification of China's textile trade and production capacity.

Romania is located in the Eurasian intercontinental area. It has a good textile industry base in history and has high labor quality. Currently, it is the largest clothing production area in Eastern Europe. Its number of workers is about 200 thousand, and its annual export volume is about 6 billion euros, which is mainly exported to Germany, Britain, France, Italy and other European Union countries.

Due to the lack of textile raw materials in Romania, more than 80% of textile raw materials and accessories need to be imported.

The textile industry in China and Romania has strong complementarity and cooperation through direct trade, construction of tax-free warehousing and logistics areas, and establishment of textile industrial parks, giving full play to their respective advantages and broad prospects for cooperation.
