International Tanners Expect A Unified Definition Of Leather Fiberboard

According to the International Tannery Council (ICT), calling this material leather board or adhesive leather will cause inaccurate consumer cognition. Enterprises that sell furniture, furniture decoration materials or other products use the terms "leather fiber board" or "adhesive leather fiber" to refer to the tannic leather or animal skin materials that are mechanically split or chemically treated into fiber particles, small particles or powders, and then bonded into sheets with or without chemical adhesive, which is considered acceptable.  
It is said that if there are any other components except leather fiber, adhesive and leather accessories, the above name only indicates a part of the product. At the same time, the International Tannery Commission (ICT) believes that the precise quantity of dry leather required for the term "leather fiberboard" is at least 50% (in weight).  
The International Tanners Committee (ICT) hopes that the Hong Kong conference delegation will reach an agreement on this definition, allowing the Committee to make efforts to this end, change new European standards, and then promote European legislation, while promoting development in Europe, so as to stimulate similar activities in other markets around the world.
