Statistics and Census Bureau data show that in June 2010, the total value of goods exported to Macao was 600 million yuan (Macao yuan, the same below), down 3.7% from the same period in 2009.

Among them, the export of Macao products (200 million yuan) fell by 24.3%, while the value of re exports (390 million yuan) increased by 11.9%.

In terms of imports, the total value of imports of goods was 3 billion 680 million yuan in June, an increase of 28.7% over the same period.

The trade deficit in June 2010 amounted to 3 billion 80 million yuan.

The total export value of the second quarter (1 billion 800 million yuan) was 4.2% lower than that in the same quarter of 2009, while the total import (10 billion 620 million yuan) recorded an increase of 22.5%, with a deficit of 8 billion 820 million yuan in goods trade.

The value of goods was 3 billion 620 million yuan, down 7.1% from the same period in 2009, of which Macao's exports decreased by 33.2%, while its exports increased by 12.8%.

The total import value was 20 billion 480 million yuan, an increase of 20.9%.

The trade deficit of goods in the first half of 2010 increased by 29.3% to 16 billion 860 million yuan over the same period, and the ratio of goods exports to imports dropped to 17.7%, down 5.3% from the same period in 2009.

In the first half of 2010, the value of goods exported to Hongkong (1 billion 640 million yuan) and Mainland China (590 million yuan) increased by 18.9% and 0.6% respectively compared with the same period in 2009.

Exports to the United States ($380 million) and the European Union ($200 million) fell by 52.6% and 47.1% respectively.

The value of exports of textiles and garments was 770 million yuan, a decrease of 48.9% compared to the same period, and the proportion of total exports to 21.2%.

The export of non textiles ($2 billion 850 million) recorded an increase of 19.3%, of which exports of copper and its products and clocks increased significantly by 103.4% and 100.8% respectively.

In terms of imports, the value of imports from mainland China (6 billion 300 million yuan) and the European Union (4 billion 440 million yuan) in the first half of 2010 increased by 20.4% and 25.1% respectively compared with the same period in 2009.

Imports of consumer goods rose by 40.4%, when the number of small and medium buses and motorcycles increased by 122.6%, while capital goods and raw materials and semi manufactured products decreased by 11.8% and 1.3% respectively.

In the first half of 2010, the total value of imports and exports of goods in Macao was 24 billion 100 million yuan, up 15.7% from 20 billion 840 million yuan in the same period in 2009.
