To support and provide long-term assistance to the people of Haiti, the AAFA announced that it will set up a Haiti American clothing and Footwear Association recovery and reconstruction team (HARRT), which will provide critical insight into the clothing, footwear industry and textile industry as a relief measure for Haiti's ongoing operation and reconstruction.

Kevin bocke, President and chief executive officer of the American Apparel and Footwear Association, said: "as we support the continued rescue efforts in Haiti, it is very important for the clothing and footwear industry to start rebuilding.

Because clothing production is one of the most outstanding industrial sectors in Haiti, the Department will play a crucial role in the reconstruction of Haiti.

I am delighted that many of the members of the American Apparel and footwear industry have been generous in their work and are actively taking the lead in the work force.

Haiti will soon move towards full recovery. "

"We must be diligent and dedicated when we are optimistic about Haiti's recovery," said Rick hyphen Bain, CO chairman of the Standing Committee of HARRT.

The apparel industry in the United States has established a long-term partnership with Haiti and is ready to become the cornerstone of Haiti's reconstruction. "

Jerry Cook, vice president of the US Han Bai company, said: "before the earthquake, the clothing and textile industry in Haiti has experienced incredible growth for several years. We must do everything we can to help the reconstruction of the garment industry in Haiti. This will make a positive contribution to Haiti's economy."

The mission of HARRT is to ensure that the clothing and footwear industry plays a responsible and positive role in the full recovery of Haiti.

In the next few weeks, HARRT will continue to look for clothing and shoe manufacturers in Haiti to learn more about their special and progress needs.

Through its core objectives, HARRT will assist Haiti's clothing and footwear industry in terms of infrastructure, engineering productivity, worker training, responsible production and procurement.
