Egypt'S Cotton Planting Area Will Drop Sharply In 2008-09

Fuad called for a moratorium on the export of raw cotton to ensure the needs of domestic cotton spinning enterprises.

The sale price of raw cotton for Egyptian cotton growers in the last year was about 180 E / kg (about 5.5 yuan / kg).

Low cotton prices and long cotton planting time (7 months) have greatly reduced farmers' enthusiasm for planting cotton.
