Liangshan Silkworm Production Increased 2600 Load Increased 4 Million Yuan

Liangshan's spring silkworm production has gained a bumper harvest in the year of great calamity. At present, 60866 cocoons of fresh cocoons have been purchased, and 70000 cocoons of cocoons are estimated to be 2600 more than the same period last year.

The income of silkworm farmers can reach 62 million yuan, an increase of 4 million yuan over the same period.

At the beginning of this year, under the influence of continuous low temperature and freezing weather, sericulture production is facing severe challenges: the survival rate of grafting is not high, the growth of mulberry trees is slow, and the storage time is delayed. Altogether 80450 species of silkworm have been released, and the increase is less than 1%.

Faced with difficulties, the party committees and governments at all levels attached great importance to Liangshan, and issued a series of policies and measures that are conducive to the development of sericulture, which enhanced the confidence of the vast majority of sericulture farmers in planting mulberry and raising silkworms, and stabilized the basis of sericulture production.

All sericultural sectors should pay special attention to various measures to increase production: strengthen the management of mulberry garden water and fertilizer, do well in prevention and control of mulberry diseases and pests, increase publicity efforts, do well in technical training, improve technical services, and strengthen feeding management.

Up to now, Liangshan has completed 1015 mu of seedling raising, 29 million 310 thousand planting mulberry, 13249 mu of high-quality mulberry garden, 451 new breeding rooms for small silkworms, 5553 large silkworm houses, 6 expansion and cocoon stations, and summer silkworm production has been launched.
